Crestron is debuting the industry’s first 4K60 4:4:4 HDR 1Gb network AV solution at ISE 2017, with the Digital Media NVX Series set to be showcased in Amsterdam.

The Digital Media NVX Series makes it possible to transmit 4K60 4:4:4 HDR video over standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet, with no latency – which Crestron says is an industry first.

“DM NVX Series takes network AV to the next level, on the platform industry pros know and trust,” notes Steve Samson, executive director, business development at Crestron. “Unlike other network AV products, there’s no need for expensive custom 10 Gigabit infrastructure.”

Crestron has been pushing its DigitalMedia line-up at ISE for the past few years, but its NVX Series debut will be one of the biggest since DigitalMedia’s introduction. This is because it allows for an infinitely scalable network AV solution, from a simple point-to-point setup, to thousands of endpoints. What’s more, a network will only require DigitalMedia encoders/decoders.

As with most DigitalMedia products, the NVX series is compatible with existing Crestron HDBaseT connectivity and network AV products. This allows installers to be flexible with their installations, and deliver content to displays, laptops, tablets and phones.

The DigitalMedia NVX Series is comprised of DM NVX Encoder/Decoder Boxes (DM-NVX-350, DM-NVX-351), DM NVX Encoder/Decoder Cards (DM-NVX-350C, DM-NVX-351C), and the DM NVX Card Chassis (DM-CI8). DigitalMedia NVX Encoders/Decoders provide auto-switching and support Ethernet natively, as well as fibre, with optional SPF modules.

Crestron has strived to make the DigitalMedia NVX Series encoder/decoder boxes and cards simple to configure, deploy and manage. It does this with intelligent software that resides within the hardware itself, and then allows integrators to manage entire systems from the web.

“Only DigitalMedia offers the ability to deliver ‘hybrid’ network AV solutions. Whatever your application and infrastructure needs – point-to-point via HDBaseT or fibre, streaming over an existing data network, or, now, a dedicated standard 1Gb network that delivers the highest image quality and unlimited scalability – DM brings it all together on a single easy-to-manage platform,” concludes Steve.
