Towering over Bermondsey Street in Central London is property developer Shape’s latest apartment build, dubbed the Taper Building. Due for completion in 2018, the building boasts a selection of luxury apartments – all of which need to be sold before completion.
One way Shape hopes to sell the apartments to the public is through a tie-up with creative technology firm, Engage Works. Shape brought Engage Works on-board to create an area to attract potential customers at a number of locations – including the initial launch event, a pop-up marketing suite in Piccadilly Station and finally onto a permanent onsite location in early 2017.
Engage Works was tasked with showcasing the level of innovative design and creativity that went into creating the Taper Building. The result was an interactive table and digital wall presentation tool that brought to life the design material of the project.
As the premises on Bermondsey Street is surrounded by a creative landscape such as craft coffee-grinders, leather makers and glass blowers, Engage were keen to mirror this creativity in its own work. It devised an interactive map, using printed vinyl and interactive touch foil to allow the customer to interact with key landmarks that surround the property to discover more about that location. Echoing the overarching marketing message of the building, Engage also included a timeline from AM to PM, offering the user an edit of the best places to spend their weekend, depending on lifestyle. The touch interaction launches fun and engaging animations, providing information as well as leaving a lasting impression on the user.
Steve Blyth, Founder and CEO at Engage Works notes: “Shape had a concept of what they wanted to achieve when they approached us to create a digital solution for The Taper Building marketing suite. From concept to creation our team worked hard to create a truly unique solution to launch the development. In the competitive property environment, companies have to think outside the box to ensure sales and our creative design and intuitive software has ensured that The Taper Building marketing suite and sales tools have a real impact and stand out from the crowd.”
Riccardo Dawson, head of brand and marketing at Shape adds: “We had the idea that for our latest marketing campaign we wanted to step away from the norm and really challenge the status quo of what it is to engage with the property market. We approached Engage initially without a full idea of exactly what we wanted to achieve and how we were going to do it. They got it straight away, coming up with lots of brilliant and crazy ideas of how we could be different without straying from our corporate objective of connecting consumers with their potential new homes.
